The Yes Please

Duelling pianos and voices, unbridled dance explosions, beautiful old time projections, Don’t miss the story of Little Red"

Developed for Melbourne Fringe Festival, this is the premier of  a new collaboration!

Little Red cabaret features queer song writers Jex Lopez and Bec Newman dueling with their pianos on stage to create a vaudevillian version of Little Red Riding Hood against a backdrop of old-time dark movie projections. Peppered with sassy banter, they tell the story of an outcast child’s triumph over adversity and her ultimate flourishing into a powerhouse agent of change. The story follows Little Red’s escape through dark forests and over rough seas to a new land where the circus calls her whence she starts a new empowered and queer chapter of her life. Live music interplays sexily with The YES PLEASE! (Zoe Xanadu, Kat KaPow, and Asti Spumante), who dance political satire and genderfuck truth-telling with pure energy into this story, with moments of unbridled crescendo on stage with all five performers working together

Twisted Comedy

WHERE: LISMORE WORKERS BOWLING CLUB

WHEN: SATURDAY 30TH NOVEMBER

STARTS: 7.30PM

ENTRY: $25-$30

On the bill: performers who know how to 'tell it how it is', in their emotional, honest and down right HILARIOUS story telling and stand up comedy performances.

International Day of People with Disability aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. Many celebrations around this time of year are very caring, loving... and to be honest... a little bit soft. Larry Laughs Loud is excited to be offering something a little different this year to celebrate diversity and embrace difference....

The line up includes QLD comedy legend, Brian Freeman. Brian is a regular performer on the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern NSW comedy circuits, surprising (or shocking) the crowds with his edgy views and honest accounts of life with Cerebral Palsy and the benefits of having a disability. Brian began performing comedy in 2013 and became a Raw Comedy finalist just a couple of months later. Brian is a regular at The Sit Down Comedy Club in Brisbane, Based comedy on the Gold Coast and with Larry Laughs Loud in the Northern Rivers and was selected to be a support act for Heath Franklin's "Chopper" (NB. By 'selected', he means he turned on the night to watch the show and begged the promoter).
